Must be 18 with a valid ID to rent a boat.

Anyone 12 and under must be accompanied in their boat by someone 18 or older.

Visitors wanting to paddle the James Branch Water Trail may put in at the Records Pond Boat Ramp and paddle upstream approximately 5 miles to Hitch Pond road. See map.

Must register by the day before! An American Red Cross certified trip leader and our naturalist will guide you down the tranquil Brandywine. Ages 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. You and a partner will need to carry your canoe to the river. Equipment will be provided. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a snack, and be prepared to get wet! Raccoon Pond Canoe Trek at Trap Pond State Park

Looking for some adventure? Join us as we paddle our way deep into the cypress swamp on our way to Raccoon Pond. This is a strenuous paddle with numerous muddy portages, recommended for intermediate to experienced paddlers. Meet at the boathouse and bring old clothes; you will get muddy.
