Dorothy is the Site Manager at the Indian River Life-Saving Station in Delaware Seashore State Park. Dorothy has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography from the University of Delaware. In addition, Dorothy is a Leave No Trace Master Educator, a Certified Interpretive Guide with the National Association of Interpretation, an American Red Cross Fundamentals of Canoeing and Fundamentals of Kayaking Instructor and a Project WET and Project Learning Tree Facilitator. Dorothy has completed all of the required coursework to be qualified as a Firefighter Type 2 by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group. Past positions that Dorothy has held include Trainer/Educator at Bellevue State Park, Teacher/Naturalist for the Delaware Nature Society, Educational Assistant at Iron Hill Museum of Natural History and Field Biologist for the Delaware Natural Areas Program. When she is not working, Dorothy enjoys backpacking, surfing and kayaking.
