Full-Day Camps:

Drop-off from 8:30 to 8:59 a.m. Pick-up from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Payment is due in full at time of registration. A $25 processing fee will be charged for all
cancellations up to April 30; refund of half of camp fee for cancellations after May 1; no
refunds after June 1.

After care is available from 4 to 5 p.m., Monday – Thursday. No after care available on Fridays.
$50 per week or $15 per day

Mini Day Camps:
After care is available from Noon to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. Campers must bring a packed lunch if registered for aftercare and will join our other campers at Noon for lunch. $50 per week or $15 per day, available Monday through Friday.

All campers must be completely toilet-trained to attend. Campers must be able to use the restroom on their own, requiring no assistance. Our definition of toilet-trained means that the child is able to manage his or her own clean-up and clothing. All campers are required to bring a packed snack to camp each day.

Creature Classes


For ages 6 to 10
June 12 – 16
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
There’s no school going on at the zoo this summer but there IS class! Discover different classes of vertebrates and how you can tell them apart. Meet amphibians, reptiles, birds, and of course, mammals.
Cost: $235 per camper, $205 DZS

Animal Handling 101: A Training Course just for Teens! (Specialty Camp)


For ages 14 to 17
June 19 – 23
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
We’ve created a full week of animal handling experiences just for teens! Get ready for close-up encounters with some of our Animal Ambassadors, learn animal facts and practice perfecting your animal handling techniques in this week-long animal training. Campers who successfully complete this week of camp may elect to become a volunteer and continue the animal handling fun throughout the summer providing animal encounters with our guests!
NOTE: Campers MUST provide proof of a negative TB test within the 365 days before camp start date at registration.
Cost: $335 per camper/ $305 DZS

Fantastic Beasts and How Care for Them


For ages 6 to 10
June 19 – 23
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Apparate into the world of fantastic beasts and magical creatures! Learn from magical game keepers about caring for Phoenix’s dragons, acromantula, and much more.
Cost: $235 per camper, $205 DZS

Sensory Safari Mini-Day Camp


For ages 4 to 5
June 26 – 30
9 – 11:30 a.m.
Spend the week on a sensory safari discovering the fantastic five senses and how both animals and people use them to explore their world!
Drop-off from 8:30 to 8:59 a.m. Pick-up from 11:30 a.m. to Noon
Early Bird fee $120 per camper, $100 DZS through March 31
After care is available for $50/week and $15/day from Noon to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. Campers must bring a packed lunch if registered for aftercare and will join our other campers at Noon for lunch.

Continental Creatures

Ever wonder how animals thrive in unique, extreme environments? Join us for an exciting week of camp all about amazing adaptations and discover how an animal’s structures help them survive.
Cost: $235 per camper, $205 DZS

We Like to Move It! Special Daily Option!


For ages 5 to 10
July 3 – 7
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Slither, crawl, swim or climb? Explore the different ways animals move and how it helps them survive. This camp is all about staying active with fun games, so get ready to move it, move it all week long!
Cost: $55/day per camper, $45/day for DZS Members or $235 per camper, $205 DZS

Jr. Zoo Keepers Basics


For ages 8 to 10
July 3 – 7
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Campers will be able to see how some animals are cared for, visit some behind-the-scenes areas and learn what it takes to feed and maintain exhibits for more than 100 animals per day. Plus, they will complete a week-long enrichment project! Please note campers will have limited contact with select animals. It is highly recommended that attending campers be able to independently complete physically challenging activities with limited assistance and be able to safely come into contact with allergens such as animal dander and hay. Please note that campers may only register for one Basics session.
After care is available from 4 to 5 p.m., Monday – Thursday for $50 per week or $15 per day. No after care available on Fridays.

Jr. Zoo Keepers Advanced


For ages 11 to 14
July 10 – 14
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Get ready for a fun filled week discovering what it takes to work at the zoo through hands- on activities and projects. Campers will go behind-the-scenes, help prepare animal diets, clean an exhibit area, study animal behavior, create enrichment and much more! Please note campers will have limited contact with select animals. It is highly recommended that attending campers be able to independently complete physically challenging activities with limited assistance and be able to safely come into contact with allergens such as animal dander and hay. Please note that campers may only register for one Advanced session.
Cost: $335 per camper/ $305 DZS

Animal Transformers


For ages 6 to 10
July 10 – 14
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Bumblebee is more than just a superhero on the big screen! Animals have some awesome abilities to transform in extreme environments. Join us for an exciting week of camp all about amazing adaptations and discover how an animal’s transform to them survive.
Cost: $235 per camper, $205 DZS

Animal Babies Mini-Day Camp

July 17 – 21
9 – 11:30 a.m.
Whether born or hatched, no one can deny how adorable animal babies are. Learn about different animal babies, their parents, and what it takes for them to grow up in a zoo or in the wild.

Food Chains, Poo, and Bugs Too!

Food chain fun? Yes! If anyone can make food chains FUN it is the zoo. Animals and plants thrive on one another and campers will have the opportunity to see the food chain come alive… and full circle with poo and bugs too.

Rainforest Rangers


For ages 6 to 10
July 31 – August 4
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Become a Rainforest Ranger and discover the diversity of animals unique to rainforests. Learn which animals call the rainforest their home and discover ways to save their shrinking habitat.

WILD Animal Careers


For ages 11 to 14
August 7 – 11
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Have you ever thought about a future career working with animals? Discover what it takes to care for, feed, train, and work with different animals. During this week, campers will explore a variety of creature careers through guest speakers, career-building lessons, and hands-on activities.
After care is available from 4 to 5 p.m., Monday – Thursday for $50 per week or $15 per day. No after care available on Fridays.

Tales of Tails Special Daily Option!


For ages 5 to 10
August 7 – 11
9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Storybook adventures ahead! Each day we will read and discuss an animal tale then immerse ourselves in the story’s theme with crafts, games, and related animal activities.
Cost:
Daily Rate: $55/day per camper, $45/day for DZS Members
Weekly Rate (all 5 days):
Early Bird Fee = $210 per camper, $180 DZS Members (by March 31st)
Regular Fee = $235 per camper, $205 DZS Members (starting April 1st)

Color Me Wild! Mini-Day Camp

9 – 11:30 a.m.
Animals come in all shapes, sizes, and COLORS. Learn about our many colorful creatures, each day focusing on a different color.

Guardians of the Globe Special Daily Option!

9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Travel the world and become a Guardian of the Globe, ready to Avenge our animal friends. Learn how to be a superhero for our planet, and meet some special animal superheroes, too.
Cost:
