Payment & Cancellation Policy

Payment is due in full at time of registration for Zoo Camp.

A $25 fee will be charged for all cancellations up to April 30th.
Half refund for cancellations after May 1st; No refunds after June 1st.

Full Day Camps:
Camp Time 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Drop off from 8:15 a.m. to 8:59 a.m. Pick up from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
After care is available Monday through Thursday only, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for $40/week or $20/day.

Mini Day Camps:
**All campers must be completely toilet trained to attend. This means that campers must be able to use the restroom on their own, requiring no assitance. Our definition of toilet trained means that the child is able to manage his/her own clean-up and clothing by him/herself.

Spring Zoo Camp 2015

Session:
Monday, April 06, 2015 to Friday, April 10, 2015
Camp Day: 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Ages: 5 to 13
Cost: $200/$175 for Delaware Zoological Society (DZS) members
Daily Fee: $55/$45 DZS
Aftercare fee: $40/week or $20/day. per camper

About the Program: Drop off 8 – 8:30 a.m., camp starts promptly at 8:30. After care Monday through Thursday until 5 p.m.; no aftercare on Friday. Each day of the week will have its own zoo-related theme. The week will be filled with zoo visits, live animal presentations, games, crafts, songs, learning projects and more.


WILD Artists

Session:
Saturday, June 06, 2015 to Friday, July 10, 2015
Camp Day:
Ages: 6 to 9
Cost: $200, $175 DZS per camper

About the Program: Set your creative side free and learn about shapes, patterns, colors and shades that occur naturally. Then create your own masterpieces.


Creature Classes

Session:
Monday, June 15, 2015 to Friday, June 19, 2015
Camp Day:
Ages: 6 to 9
Cost: $200, $175 for members of the Delaware Zoological Society (DZS) per camper

About the Program: There’s no school at the zoo this summer but there IS class. Discover different classes of vertebrates and how to tell them apart. Meet amphibians, reptiles, birds and of course, mammals.


Mini Day Camp: Sensory Safari

Session:
Monday, June 22, 2015 to Friday, June 26, 2015
Camp Day: Camp Time: 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Drop-off from 8:15 a.m. to 8:59 a.m. Pick-up from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Ages: 4 to 5
Cost: $200/$175 DZS per camper

About the Program: Take a sensory safari to discover the fantastic five senses and how animals and people use them to explore the world. After-care is available from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Camper will need to have a packed lunch if registered for after-care and will join other campers for a 12:00 p.m. lunch. Aftercare Fee: $40/week or $20/day

Dog Days of Summer

Session:
Monday, June 29, 2015 to Friday, July 03, 2015
Camp Day:
Ages: 5 to 13
Cost: $200, $175 DZS for all 4 days
Daily Rate: $55, $45 DZS per camper

About the Program: The dog days of summer can be “ruff” so beat the heat while learning about cool canines. Campers will learn responsible pet care and explore different canine groups.


Mini Day Camp: Color Me Wild

Session:
Monday, July 06, 2015 to Friday, July 10, 2015
Camp Day: Camp Time: 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Drop-off from 8:15 a.m. to 8:59 a.m. Pick-up from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Ages: 4 to 5

About the Program: Animals come in all shapes, sizes, and COLORS. Learn about our colorful creatures, focusing on a different color each day. After-care is available from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Camper will need to have a packed lunch if registered for after-care and will join other campers for a 12:00 p.m. lunch. Rainforest Rangers

Session:

Camp Day:
Ages: 6 to 9

About the Program: Become a Rainforest Ranger and discover animals unique to rainforests. Learn which animals call the rainforest their home and discover ways to save their shrinking habitat.


Jr. Zoo Keepers Basics (Specialty Camp)*

Camp Day:
Ages: 8 to 10
Cost: $300, $275 DZS per camper

About the Program: Discover what it takes to work at the zoo. Campers go behind-the-scenes, help prepare animal diets, clean an exhibit area, study animal behavior, create enrichment and more. *Campers must be able to complete physically challenging activities with limited assistance and be able to come into contact with allergens, such as animal dander and hay, safely. Campers will have limited contact with select animals. Campers may only register for one session per age group.


Jr. Zoo Keepers Advanced (Specialty Camp)*

Ages: 11 to 13
Cost: $300, $275 DZS per camper

About the Program: Some animals eat plants, some eat meat and some eat a little of both. Take a culinary journey into the animal kingdom and learn what’s on the menu for some of your favorite animals.

About the Program: No one can deny how adorable animal babies are. Learn about different animal babies, their parents and what it takes for them to grow. After-care is available from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Camper will need to have a packed lunch if registered for after-care and will join other campers for a 12:00 p.m. lunch. About the Program: Each day we will read an animal tale then immerse ourselves in the story’s theme with crafts, games and related animal activities.
