Delaware State Parks offer exciting summer day camps all over Delaware! Below is a list of the camps we will be offering this summer. We have something for everyone!

Registration begins on February 7, 2022

Campers and parents must follow current health guidelines, which may include screening and/or face coverings. Visit COVID-19 information page for the latest information.

Programs and activities may change based on current Covid-19 guidelines.

Alapocas Run State Park - Nature Rock Climbing Camp

For ages 8 to 10

June 13 - June 17, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Learn to climb, make some friends and have great nature adventures. Campers will learn the basics of rock climbing while exploring the natural word in Alapocas Run State Park. Climbing equipment is provided.

Bellevue State Park - Travel Fishing

For ages 12 to 15

July 11 - July 15, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Campers travel to different fishing sites each day including an offshore charter boat trip and a canoe trip on the Brandywine. Participants will learn about fresh and saltwater fishing, fly fishing, fishing ethics, safety and techniques. This camp is appropriate for all skill levels. All necessary supplies are included, though campers are allowed to bring their own equipment if they wish. Trips involve travel to sites 15 minutes to 1.5 hours away.

For ages 7 to 10

Explore different photography techniques with photo challenges, crafts, and games. Parents will get to see the campers’ album in an end-of-the-week display. All supplies, including two disposable cameras and photo printing costs, are included in the camp fee.

Challenge your outdoor skills! Come join us this week for an adventure in exploration. Design survival kits, orienteer through the woods, disc golf through the meadows, see who can build the best shelter, tube down the Brandywine, and learn about campfires!

Brandywine Creek State Park - Wilderness Survival

For ages 8 to 10

June 27 - July 1, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Prepare for the outdoors and learn the principles of Leave No Trace. What goes in to a survival kit? How do you use a map and compass? From knot tying and shelter building, learning about native plants, basic first aid, emergency preparedness, campfire safety, and hiking the trails. This week will be full of cool lessons and fun games!

Brandywine Creek State Park - Naturalist Adventures

For ages 9 to 12

What does a park naturalist do? Learn all about conservation, nature education, and much more as you train to be a mini naturalist! Go blue bird monitoring, orienteer through the old growth forest, meet our corn snake, Cornelius (and learn how we care for him), tube down the Brandywine, and even make your own program to present at the end of the week!

Build a bird’s nest from scratch, make film canister rockets, visit the marsh and learn about wetlands, make a sundial with just your friends and some chalk, learn about non-Newtonian fluids, and craft your very own egg drop container!

Get ready for a week of discovering all things wild about the park. Dip net along the pond’s edge to discover what lives beneath the surface. Boat the pond in search of wildlife and get up close with some of the resident animals that call Lums Pond home.

This fishing camp will take campers on an adventure to explore some of the best fishing spots at Lums Pond. Campers will get to experiment with different types of bait, and head out on the water to test their angling skills!

Trap Pond - Fishing Frenzy

Campers will become experienced anglers! Learn the various bait types, fish species and knots needed to become excellent fishermen! We will fish from the bank, docks and our pontoon boat during the week. A fishing tournament will be held at the end of the week to show off our new skills.

For more experienced anglers. Advanced techniques, including fly fishing, will be taught and used. We will also hand-make our own lures, rigs and other fishing equipment.

Explore ways people work with animals such as dogs, bats, goats and butterflies. This camp may include trips to visit an animal veterinarian, animal rehabilitator, and a working farm. Guests include animal caregivers and ornithologists. Of course, campers will squeeze in creek time and games.

Frogs are hopping, birds are chirping and the creek is flowing during this summer fun camp! Campers will dig deeper into our animal world at the creek with nets searching for frogs and toads, and on hikes looking for owls and forest friends. White Clay Creek State Park - Outdoor Adventure Skills

Enjoy exploring outdoor sports here at White Clay Creek with hiking, tubing, fishing and beginner mountain biking (mtn. bikes are available to borrow or bring your own). We will take a field trip to Lums Pond for kayaking as well. We’ll wrap up the week with a bike ride to a cool spot in town. Campers must bring a properly fitted, CPSC-approved helmet and be able to swim.

Park Rangers have a very exciting and important job when it comes to protecting and conserving our park. Spend the week exploring the park through the eyes of a Ranger, by learning animal tracks, talking to the Rangers of our park and having a conservation conversation.

The creek and its surrounding areas offer lots of natural supplies to be used for crafts and activities! We will be spending lots of time in the water and making creek crafts this week! White Clay Creek State Park - Single Track Shredders: WCCSP Mountain Bike focused camp

For ages 12 to 15

This camp is specifically designed for experienced bikers with six or more miles of all-terrain experience. Join other avid young bikers from the region for a week-long mountain biking experience. The week includes rides all around at White Clay Creek and Middle Run trails. Bike repair, riding techniques and coolin’ off in the creek are all part of the mountain bike camp. Campers should bring their own mountain bike (bikes are available to borrow) and a properly fitted, CPSC-approved helmet, bike gloves and be able to swim.
