Conservation Tech - Brandywine Zoo

For ages 12 to 15

August 9 - August 13, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

From GPS tags to camera traps, high-tech to low-tech, learn about all of the cool technology that conservationists use to study wildlife, plus get some hands-on practice!

Cost: $315/$285 DZS by March 31

Rock Climbing Adventure Camp III - Alapocas Run State Park - FULL

For ages 11 to 13

July 26 - July 30, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Test your strength, agility and concentration while exploring the world of rock climbing. Campers will learn the basics of climbing and hiking at Alapocas Run State Park. Climbing equipment is provided.

Cost: $275 per camper

Wildlife Ranger Adventures - Lums Pond State Park - FULL

For ages 7 to 10

July 26 - July 30, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Kayak the pond in search of wildlife and learn about the adventures you can have when working with wildlife! Peek behind the scenes at conservation efforts, conduct wildlife research and enjoy a week of exciting adventure at Lums Pond.

RECREATION CAMP: Going for Gold - Bellevue State Park - FULL

For ages 7 to 11

July 26 - July 30, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Bellevue State Park is the place to be this summer! Activities include sports and games, arts and crafts, and nature exploration all related to the weekly theme and the park itself.

Cost: $190 per week

Young Explorers: Garden Discovery - Bellevue State Park - FULL

For ages 4 to 6

July 26 - July 30, 9 a.m. - noon

Each day, explore a nature topic through a hands-on hike and nature craft. Daily activities relate to the theme of the week and are documented on our “Look What We Did Today” wall for parents to see. Each week will be different, so sign up for one or all four!

Cost: $105 per week

S.A.F.E. - Saving Animals From Extinction - Brandywine Zoo - FULL

For ages 9 to 11

July 26 - July 30, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) is initiative through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to save endangered animals through the work of zoos, aquariums, conservation groups, and YOU. Come and learn about how zoos save species from your backyard to around the world and what YOU can do to help.

Cost: $315/$285 DZS by March 31

Cape Challenges - Cape Henlopen State Park - FULL

For ages 8 to 10

July 26 - July 30, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Challenge yourself as part of a team that hunts for treasure, seeks invaders and uncovers some of Cape’s mysteries.

Cost: $225

Vets and Pets - Trap Pond State Park - FULL

For ages 7 to 14

July 26 - July 30, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This camp is for those who aspire to work with animals or want to take good care of their pets. The animals we will learn about will include Monarch Butterflies, reptiles, domestic and even farm animals.

Cost: $175

Single Track Shredders: WCCSP Mountain Bike Focused Camp - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 12 to 15

July 26 - July 30, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This camp is specifically designed for experienced bikers with six or more miles of all-terrain experience. Join other avid young bikers from the region for a week-long mountain biking experience. The week includes rides all around at White Clay Creek and Middle Run Trails. Bike repair, riding techniques and coolin’ off in the creek are all part of this week. Campers should bring their own mountain bike (bikes are also available to borrow), a properly fitted, CPSC-approved helmet, bike gloves and be able to swim.

Stream Splashers - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 4 to 6

July 26 - July 30, 9 a.m. - noon

There is nothing like a summer splash in the creek! Campers enjoy a week full of creek play, making and floating their own boats, animal crafts, and enjoying what nature has to offer with their new friends.

Lums Pond Anglers (Session 2) - Lums Pond State Park - FULL

For ages 10 to 13

August 2 - August 6, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This fishing camp will take campers on an adventure to explore some of the best fishing spots at Lums Pond. Campers will get to experiment with different types of bait, and head out on the water to test their angling skills! Campers may bring their own equipment, but all equipment needed will be provided.

RECREATION CAMP: Ooey Gooey - Bellevue State Park - FULL

For ages 7 to 11

August 2 - August 6, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Bellevue State Park is the place to be this summer! Activities include sports and games, arts and crafts, and nature exploration all related to the weekly theme and the park itself.

Cost: $190 per week

Nature Detectives - Bellevue State Park - FULL

For ages 6 to 8

August 2 - August 6, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Come use your investigative skills to solve nature problems around the park! Each day campers will find clues around the park to solve a nature mystery. We will also do crafts, play games, and go on hikes!

Art Safari - Brandywine Zoo - FULL

For ages 6 to 8

August 2 - August 6, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Discover and be inspired by the amazing art created by animals, or of animals, around the world! Every day we’ll create a new project inspired by the wild artists around us while exploring different mediums.

Chilling at Cape - Cape Henlopen State Park - FULL

For ages 6 to 8

August 2 - August 6, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Find out how the plants and animals of Cape beat the heat as we explore different “cool” places in the park.

Creek Creations - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 6 to 8

August 2 - August 6, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The creek and its surrounding areas offer lots of natural materials to be used for crafts and activities! During this fun-filled week learn about the creek’s gems, conduct cool experiments, and of course enjoy time playing in and around the creek.

Mines and Minerals: Creek Explorations - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 9 to 11

August 2 - August 6, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Are you familiar with things like obsidian and mycelium in the virtual world? How great would it be to see and touch the real thing in the natural world? Explore many amazing geologic and natural features of the Earth with a week of hands-on construction and experimentation, along with plenty of time for fun at the creek.

For ages 7 to 11

Pirates Treasures: Stream Explorers - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 6 to 8

Argh you ready for a pirate week? Spend your “shipwrecked” days searching for treasure, panning for gems and meeting new pirate friends while learning about the incredible treasures that make up our natural world.

Camp Awesome - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 9 to 11

August 9 - August 13, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Enjoy a little bit of everything in this fun-filled camp! Pan for creek gems, make nature gnomes, play games, hike through the park, create amazing art and go fishing for awesome fun. Must be able to swim.

RECREATION CAMP: Creepy Crawlies - Bellevue State Park - FULL

For ages 7 to 11

August 16 - August 20, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

ZOOlympics - Brandywine Zoo - FULL

For ages 6 to 8

August 16 - August 20, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Every day in the animal kingdom is a competition for survival! Come and learn which animal will take the gold medal for strongest, fastest, sneakiest, or most agile, and try out your skills in our own Summer ZOOlympic Games!

Creek Safari - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 4 to 6

August 16 - August 20, 9 a.m. - noon

Join us on an expedition in this action packed week of exploring the creek and woods. Learn about wildlife this week through awesome outdoor games, crafts and lots of creek time!

Continental Creatures - Brandywine Zoo - FULL

For ages 6 to 8

August 23 - August 27, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Grab your passport and take off on a journey to learn about wildlife from around the world! Each day we will discuss a new continent and the animals that call it home.
