RECREATION CAMP: Planes, Trains and Automobiles - Bellevue State Park

For ages 7 to 11

June 21 - June 25, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Bellevue State Park is the place to be this summer! Activities include sports and games, arts and crafts, and nature exploration all related to the weekly theme and the park itself.

Cost: $190 per week

Expert Fishing Camp - Trap Pond State Park

For ages 11 to 15

July 5 - July 9, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

For more experienced anglers. Alternate techniques, including fly fishing, will be taught and used. We will also hand-make our own lures, rigs, and other fishing equipment.

Cost: $200

Rock and Rappel Climbing Camp - Alapocas Run State Park

For ages 13 to 15

July 19 - July 23, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Challenge your mental and physical skills while exploring the world of rock climbing. Campers will discover the basics of top rope rock climbing, belaying and rappelling while having an adventure. Climbing equipment is provided.

Conservation Tech - Brandywine Zoo

For ages 12 to 15

August 9 - August 13, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

From GPS tags to camera traps, high-tech to low-tech, learn about all of the cool technology that conservationists use to study wildlife, plus get some hands-on practice!

Young Explorers: Habitat Adventures - Bellevue State Park - FULL

For ages 4 to 6

June 7 - June 11, 9 a.m. - noon

Each day, explore a nature topic through a hands-on hike and nature craft. Daily activities relate to the theme of the week and are documented on our “Look What We Did Today” wall for parents to see. Each week will be different, so sign up for one or all four!

Wild in the Park - Lums Pond State Park - FULL

For ages 6 to 9

June 14 - June 18, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Get ready for a week of discovering all things wild about the park. Dip net along the pond’s edge to discover the true creatures living under the surface! Take a boat out on the pond to search of wildlife. Get up close with some of the resident animals that call Lums Pond home.

Nature Rock Climbing Camp I - Alapocas Run State Park - FULL

For ages 8 to 10

For ages 9 to 12

This fishing camp will take campers on an adventure to explore some of the best fishing spots at Lums Pond. Campers will get to experiment with different types of bait and head out on the water to test their angling skills! Campers may bring their own equipment, but all needed equipment will be provided.

Join us this week to explore the creek and surrounding forest valley in search of wildlife and fun. Nature can be the best playground and classroom. Come make friends while playing in and around the creek. Nature games and crafts will be a part of this camp.

For ages 10 to 13

Hone those outdoor survival skills by making bamboo fishing poles, hiking sticks and lean-tos. Team up to build shelters that can stand up to the outdoors and use different techniques to make the best campfire. Find out if you are up to the outdoor survival challenge!

Fishing Frenzy - Trap Pond State Park - FULL

For ages 7 to 12

June 28 - July 2, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Campers will become experienced anglers! Learn the various bait types, fish species and knots needed to become excellent fisherman! We will fish from the bank, docks and our pontoon boat during the week. A fishing tournament will be held at the end of the week to show off our new skills.

Fantastic Frogs and Feathers - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 5 to 7

June 28 - July 2, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Frogs are hopping, birds are chirping and the creek is flowing during this fun summer camp! Campers will dig deeper into our animal world at the creek with nets searching for frogs and toads, and on hikes looking for owls and forest friends. Plenty of creek time, active games, crafts and time outside.

Wilderness Survival Skills - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 8 to 10

Ever wonder if you have what it takes to survive in the wild? This week is all about learning the skills needed to help you in a wilderness setting. Campers will use a map to find their way, make survival bracelets and participate in lots of outdoor activities.

Explore the enchanted “kingdom” of the White Clay Valley during this week of crafting fairy homes and castles, and use your imagination during many other themed crafts and games. Visitors to camp may include our Natural Resource “Knights” and Naturalist Forest “Fairy.”

Outdoor Adventure Skills - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 11 to 14

July 12 - July 16, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Enjoy exploring outdoor sports here at White Clay Creek with hiking, tubing and beginner mountain biking. (Mountain bikes are available to borrow or bring your own.) We’ll wrap up the week with a bike ride to a cool spot in town. Campers must bring a properly fitted, CPSC-approved helmet and be able to swim.

Campers spend the week making lures, learning knot tying and of course, fishing! We’ll practice casting, make fish prints, and do some science experiments! Get an up-close look at Delaware’s native fish and take part in a Friday fishing tournament where everyone’s a winner!

Explore different photography techniques each day with hands-on applications. Parents will be invited to an art show on Friday afternoon highlighting campers’ work throughout the week. All supplies, including two disposable cameras and photo printing costs, are included in the camp fee.

Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) is initiative through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to save endangered animals through the work of zoos, aquariums, conservation groups, and YOU. Come and learn about how zoos save species from your backyard to around the world and what YOU can do to help.

Cape Challenges - Cape Henlopen State Park - FULL

For ages 8 to 10

Challenge yourself as part of a team that hunts for treasure, seeks invaders and uncovers some of Cape’s mysteries.

Vets and Pets - Trap Pond State Park - FULL

For ages 7 to 14

July 26 - July 30, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This camp is for those who aspire to work with animals or want to take good care of their pets. The animals we will learn about will include Monarch Butterflies, reptiles, domestic and even farm animals.

Single Track Shredders: WCCSP Mountain Bike Focused Camp - White Clay Creek State Park - FULL

For ages 12 to 15

July 26 - July 30, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This camp is specifically designed for experienced bikers with six or more miles of all-terrain experience. Join other avid young bikers from the region for a week-long mountain biking experience. The week includes rides all around at White Clay Creek and Middle Run Trails. Bike repair, riding techniques and coolin’ off in the creek are all part of this week. Campers should bring their own mountain bike (bikes are also available to borrow), a properly fitted, CPSC-approved helmet, bike gloves and be able to swim.

For ages 4 to 6

There is nothing like a summer splash in the creek! Campers enjoy a week full of creek play, making and floating their own boats, animal crafts, and enjoying what nature has to offer with their new friends.

Every day in the animal kingdom is a competition for survival! Come and learn which animal will take the gold medal for strongest, fastest, sneakiest, or most agile, and try out your skills in our own Summer ZOOlympic Games!
